Francis Scola - Director (1) (2)
Mr. Scola is Managing Director of LFM Partners (investment partnership). He also serves as Director of TSX-listed White Tiger Gold Ltd. and from January, 2007 to present is Director of Ecometals Limited an exploration company focused on Ecuador. From June 2007 to present Mr. Scola is Managing Director, Shipston Group Limited (private equity) and from April 2004 he was a partner, portfolio manager and consultant for the Shipston Group, which invests in venture capital natural resource projects, private equity, currencies, futures, bonds, equities and various investment funds. Prior to this position, he was a partner and portfolio manager at Weintraub Capital Management and a partner, analyst, and portfolio manager at Touchstone Investments. Mr. Scola has also worked for Moore Capital Management, a New York-based hedge fund executing trades in the Asian region, mostly in bonds, currencies and futures. Mr. Scola holds both an M.A. in public policy with an emphasis on economic growth models and a M.B.A. focusing on finance from the University of Chicago.
David Lurie - Interim President and Chief Executive Officer, Chief Financial Officer and Director
Prior to joining Red Tiger Mr. Lurie was CFO of Maple Minerals Corporation (Maple), owner of the Caribou zinc/lead mine in Bathurst, New Brunswick. In May 2012 Maple entered into a definitive combination agreement with Trevali Mining Corp (TSX: TV). Prior to Maple, Mr. Lurie was a Portfolio Manager at K2 Investment Management, a Toronto-based hedge fund, executing various long-short equity & debt investment strategies.
Mr. Lurie was previously a Principal at Polar Capital, a boutique merchant bank in Toronto. From 2002-2005 he executed a successful roll-up strategy in the enterprise software space, culminating in the sale of Speedware Corporation (TSX-V: SPW) to Activant Solutions, a Hicks Muse-backed portfolio company.
Prior to pursuing his MBA, Mr. Lurie worked for five years as an engineer in various capacities including as a Design Engineer and Project Manager. He has worked in manufacturing operations and has consulted in design engineering to Caterpillar's Construction and Mining Equipment division in Decatur, Illinois.
Mr. Lurie has a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from McGill University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
